We will teach you and your children to swim using the correct and most efficient stroke techniques, including the starts and turns that go with all four of the strokes.

Our belief is - that it is not how many kilometres you can swim, it is how well you can swim them.

Three levels of water awareness:

The essential ingredient to learning is to have fun and repetition is an important factor to assist them in their learning environment.

Aquatots - from 3 months of age

These classes are designed to give both the baby and the parent an awareness of the water and to gain strength and confidence while they learn to be independent. We do not use floatation devises in the classes as a general rule, as we want them to learn HOW to swim.

This class is primarily a transition class from Aquatots to Neons with ONLY 3 pupils per class. It is also utilised for those children that have not started their water experience in the baby (Aquatot) classes.

Neons- approximately from 2 years of age

When a child is ready to swim without a parent/carer. It is dependant on their ability and confidence in the water to move into this class. It is not restricted to an age.

Six levels of Stroke Development:

These classes are ability based not age based. There is a maximum of 4 pupils per class in Neons, Seahorse/Goldfish, Starfish and Angelfish.

Seahorses and Goldfish.

Seahorses and Goldfish are of equal ability level. The difference is that morning classes are Seahorse and afternoons are Goldfish. Children are taught to swim using a basic Freestyle, breathing to one side, and a basic Backstroke.

In these classes children learn to increase their stamina. They will learn to breathe on both sides (bi-lateral) in Freestyle. Backstroke will also be greatly improved in this level.

These classes learn a 'high elbow' Freestyle. The Backstroke is refined. The children will also begin to learn how to do the Breaststroke kick.

This level will maintain the pupils competency at both Freestyle and Backstroke. Breaststroke is the main focus of this group, with an introduction to Butterfly.

Four levels of Squad training:

Swordfish - Junior Development Squad.

These pupils demonstrate good Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke. Butterfly is the main focus of this group, with the continued maintenance of the other strokes.

Dolphins - Junior Squad.

Refinement of all strokes is continued in these classes. Pupils will learn the ropes of squad training, in preparation for the next levels of squad development.

Sharks - Two levels - Juniors and Competitive.

These pupils can swim all strokes with the correct technique.
